If the Sunset Place shopping center hoped that the fashion of food areas could save the decayed installation of South Miami, the experiment turned out to be another victim.

Y single, which opened in the spring of 2019 with half a dozen local restaurants, including one of the popular Miami Adrienne Calvo chef, will close on January 30, wrote its owner on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon.Founder Steve Simon, who also directed the Killer Melts restaurant in the food area, partly blamed "a stagnant and traffic shopping center".

"Too many obstacles have drowned us," Simon wrote.“Among the labor crisis, the increase in wages, the astronomical increase in the cost of food, products, operating costs, rent, a stagnant shopping center without traffic, this last wave of Covid has meant too many obstacles forOur family place survived ".

Simon, who owns Killer Melts on 12310 SW 127 Ave.In Kendall, he opened the food area of 6,500 square feet next to the entrance of the mall by Sunset Drive. The first wave of concept restaurants were popular suburban places with local followers, such as the Peruvian restaurant.Limón, Simon Sandwiches's own place and the Calvo’s Cracked chicken chicken place.Calvo's restaurant turned out to be so popular that he opened an independent place for two blocks.
