The district of Brooklyn, in New York (United States), lived this Thursday afternoon a shocking police pursuit of the security forces to catch a school bus that had been stolen hours before in which, Fortunately, there are no casualties to be regretted beyond minor injuries and, not a few, material damage. And it is that in his spectacular escape through the streets of the popular New York district, the thief repeatedly hit several of the cars that surrounded him.
As detailed later by investigators, the school bus had been stolen around 1:45 p.m. on Jackie Robinson Avenue in Brooklyn. It was then that the police received the alert notice and when they went to the scene they saw the aforementioned school bus parked with a man inside – but without schoolchildren or other people – and when they tried to enter the suspect resisted.
Local media detail that despite the fact that the police officers tried to appease the man with a Taser pistol, the suspect managed to escape and start his impetuous escape through the streets of Brooklyn, in which he caused several damages, repeatedly crashing into various vehicles.
The first reports indicate that there would be four minor injuries and around twenty cars would have been affected. One of the injured is the driver himself, who was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The scene caused surprise and nerves among the residents of Brooklyn.
The detainee, Anthony Reyes, now faces charges of grand theft, recklessness, forgery, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and resisting authority.
