According to Queen Letizia, tweed is also for summer (if you know how to wear it)

In the final stretch before her vacation, Queen Letizia seems ready to show off her ability to give new life in her outfits to garments that she has kept in her closets for years. At the beginning of the week, she surprised me by combining a dress with false polka dots by Massimo Dutti from 2018 with espadrilles from Macarena Shoes and today, in a work meeting with the Spanish Association Against Cancer, she has done something very similar with a design by Adolfo Dominguez.

Tweed is experiencing a second youth since last spring and has been seen in all kinds of garments, from classic jackets to dresses. Precisely a dress of this fabric is the one that Doña Letizia has chosen. She has been in her dressing room since May 2018, when she premiered it at a lunch at the Palacio de la Zarzuela, and although it may seem somewhat wintery, it is from the Galician designer's spring collection of that year. With short sleeves, a round neckline and a knee-length skirt, her garment has seen how the queen reapplied her most famous style trick: incorporating a small belt to highlight her waist.

As happened with the Masimo Dutti dress, Queen Letizia has today dispensed with combining this design with high-heeled shoes. Instead, she has chosen to recover a pair of brown leather wedge espadrilles from Uterqüe that she premiered during the summer of 2019 in Mallorca. As a bag, the queen has carried her white Furla Metropolitan, after several appearances in which she had preferred to do without this accessory.

Although Doña Letizia's agenda has been full of events since the beginning of the summer, the royal had not dusted off her collection of wedge espadrilles until this week. If she continues betting on this shoe in the ones to come, she will surely return to her models from Castañer, Macarena Shoes, Mint & Rose or Uterqüe and it is more than likely that she will add a new firm to this selection.
