The journalistic profession is in mourning this Wednesday after the sudden death of journalist Elia Rodríguez, presenter of Es Radio, was announced. The woman from Segovia, who became known on television thanks to the TVE program Libros con uasabi, presented by Sánchez Dragó, died at the age of 38 after her family informed the station of what had happened this morning.

Minutes later, Federico Jiménez Losantos gave the news live on his morning show on Es Radio. He did it with a broken voice and with his heart in a fist, since apart from being a chain partner, Elia had also been part of her team for several seasons. The shock of her death is being such that the networks have been filled with affectionate messages of remembrance in honor of the young journalist.

“Today we have to give news that we would never have liked to give, our friend and colleague Elia Rodríguez has left us. Our deepest condolences to family and friends of this great person and professional. All your colleagues will always remember you”, Es Radio wrote on its Twitter along with a photograph of the journalist. As confirmed by the chain in a press release, the journalist "has died suddenly due to a domestic accident, a fall, at her home." Everything indicates that she fell down the stairs, as confirmed by sources close to the chain to La Vanguardia.

Since then, dozens and dozens of messages have been added to Es Radio's condolences. Among them stands out the message written by his former boss, Fernando Sánchez Dragó, who said: "He was -he will continue to be in my memory- an extraordinary being in all possible aspects of the human condition".

The woman from Segovia graduated in Information Sciences and received the end-of-course award, as well as a master's degree in Institutional and Political Communication from Carlos III of Madrid. Although she rose to fame thanks to participating in Fernando Sánchez Dragó's Libros con uasabi program, in which she became a dialogue partner with two other women, Ayanta Barilli and Anna Grau, Elia was always linked to the radio world.

First, she was part of the Jiménez Losantos program on Es Radio and, later, she continued with her role as presenter hosting the magazine Es la Mañana de Fin de Semana, apart from the bullfighting space esToros at midnight on Sundays.
