Trendstop offers Fashionunited readers a summary of the last edition of London Fashion Spring/Summer 2022 Fashion Week.
London has hosted the fashion week with a unisex sample of the best collections in the capital. After the last edition, starring mostly by digital presentations, the catwalks have returned and the Public Presentation. The designers took full advantage of the physical spaces that the city had to offer, incorporating art, culture, movement and music, in a sample of creativity and art.
Roksanda
The Serpentine Pavilion served as a backdrop for the first face -to -face presentation of Roksanda Ilincic after confinement. The dancers, instead of models, gave life to a collection in living tones with an immersive performance designed to teach the movement of garments.Structured and unstructured, bulky and undulating dresses were accompanied by corset structures and exaggerated shapes in fists and hems.Impressions with brushstrokes and loose threads between organza layers with plasticized coatings, joined the sensation of drama and creative flash.
Saul Nash
Saul Nash, the first designer of London's catwalks, was nostalgic. His male clothing collection, entitled Fragment, took as reference his old school uniform, with all its emotional meaning.Identity and customization were explored through the combination of sportswear, high performance and fashion in the purest Nash style. The garments were adjustable, removable and reversible, adorned with rubber keychains, school caps with logos and prints distorted with the transport cards used by children in the city center to go to their schools.
Richard Malone X Mulberry
Another designers who explored with fragments was Richard Malone, who used pieces of Mulberry skins and fabrics for his collection. The circular forms of pleated rosette and the details of the bracelets, inspired by Malone's grandmother and her love for all equestrian things, were carefully handmade.Applied in male and female clothes in its mixed show, Malone sought to explore the fusion of the theatrical with the real life needs of its customers, as well as the incorporation of gender fluidity.
