Horses on the catwalk: The triumphal entry of fashion houses, with feminist symbol
In Paris Fashion Week, Carlota Casiraghi made a triumphal entry mounted on horseback in the Chanel parade.Although the images quickly became viral, the surprising thing was that a member of royalty enters a haute couture parade this way.Dior, Givenchy, Céline, Jacquemus, Franck Sorbier are some of the firms they have used throughout their steed collections on the catwalk.In many cases, their designers affirm their inspiration in mythologies and medieval history.
Casiraghi is not the first to bring a horse to the catwalk: in 2020 Virginie Viard, presented the bride of the year in a majestic white horse.Chanel's creative director confessed that she was inspired by the mounting costumes of the French region of Camargue.
For his part, María Grazia Chiuri, also included it in her proposal for Dior: a girlfriend, wearing a design of Silhouette Empire, up the same way to the spine of a white horse.Inspired by different mythologies, in the first collection of her Chiuri organized a masks dance in the Rodin at night, which included white and white horsepower shooters wearing Horns of Stephen Jones.

In her spring collection of 2019, Russian designer Alena Akhmadullina presented her proposal inspired by Lady Godiva's fairy tale: a female reference mounted on horseback, which is constantly repeated in pop culture.This is the Godive poem of 1840, in which Alfred Tennyson mixes a legend, a medieval atmosphere, and a horse that is stained white.Godiva became a heroine when he faced her husband, Chester's count.Her myth tells that, given her insistence, the count told her that she would only lower the taxes that suffocated to her people, if she walked day through the streets of Coventry on horseback, but completely naked.
