Gigi Hadid's most recent modeling job with Moschino had similarities to her life at home as a mom.
On Thursday, September 9, her two worlds came together on the runway, where she modeled the brand's spring-summer collection, during New York Fashion Week. The two looks she showed off seemed to pay tribute to her 11-month-old daughter, Khai.
Gigi Hadid's looks at Moschino
The model opened the show in a skirt suit, blazer and crop top with a nursery print. As accessories, she wore earrings that looked like teethers and a necklace made of children's alphabet letters.
To close the show, Gigi wore a patchwork dress with children's motifs and a bag shaped like a baby bottle, which she played with, posed with, and even pretended to drink from.
And that was not the only iconic moment of the Moschino show: it was also the Fashion Week debut of model Aaron Philip, who had already participated in a few campaigns for the brand but had never walked the runway.
Aaron is a black model who uses a wheelchair and is trans. On her Instagram, she shared photos from the show (in which she modeled a yellow crop top and suit set) and wrote:
“People, models and talent with disabilities matter a lot and we can do a lot as long as accessibility steps are taken. Black and trans women and girls are imported and beautiful and I thank God that we are being noticed more for the sweet souls that we are."
We hope to see more models like her at fashion weeks soon!
