Do you notice the absence of street style right now on your Instagram feed? Under normal circumstances, at the end of London fashion Week, editors and influencers would have shown their looks in front of a cohort of expectant photographers. However, with the appearance of 'figurative' parades in spring-summer 2021, the most recognizable chameleons in the fashion industry have remained confined to the salons of their homes.
This season, which has a limited number of parades in physical format yet to be held, has witnessed the increase in zoom presentations and artificial intelligence through individual press passes and the temporary dissolution of the sacrosanct front row. Now that street style has been replaced mainly by virtual alternatives, we have taken advantage of asking eight of the leading photographers for a much-needed dose of nostalgia.
Next, Style du Monde, Sandra Semburg, Paul won Jeong, Shoichi Aoki, Phil Oh, Jonathan Daniel Pryce, Scott Schuman and Søren Jepsen search their files to select their most inspiring street style photos and tell us the stories behind each snapshot.
