Spain will be very well represented at the Miss Universe 2021 gala thanks to Sarah Loinaz, the Gipuzkoan who was crowned 'Miss Universe Spain' last October in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The 70th edition of the popular beauty pageant will take place on December 13 at the Universe Arena in Eilat (Israel) with the American comedian and television presenter Steve Harvey as master of ceremony. But, who is the young woman who will represent our country?
Sarah Loinaz, 23, boasts heart-stopping measurements with her 1.75m height and exotic features inherited from her mother. She was born in San Sebastián, but with Moroccan roots, she studied Business Administration and Management and saw her most cherished dream come true with the title of 'Miss Universe Spain'. From a very young age, it was clear to her that her passion was on the catwalks, starting to walk the catwalk at just 14 years old and participating in such important beauty pageants as 'Miss World Spain 2015' and 'Reina Hispanoamericana 2016'.
“I can't believe it. Behind this photo there is a story. Many doors were closed to me, I fell hundreds of times, coming to question everything, but I decided to get up and fight no matter the difficulties I was encountering along the way. I spent nights studying, constantly looking for the motivation of my dreams and living with a suitcase in hand, ready to leave home without knowing when I would return", the young woman expressed on her Instagram profile a few minutes after becoming the Spanish representative.
The young woman, who has spent several months focused on preparing the grand final gala of Miss Universe 2021, has in mind to finish her studies with the idea of being able to merge ADE with fashion and beauty in the medium and long term. Among her plans, the creation of a beauty clinic where she can make the most of one of her great passions.
The one from the Basque Country also intends to make the most of its reign. The great media exposure and visibility that the title of 'Miss Universe Spain' gives her will help Sarah Loinaz continue her work as ambassador of the 'Aguja Solidaria' association, bringing uniforms to children in Africa and selling different creations with which she will seek to raise money.
In this way, Sarah Loinaz joins the history of Spaniards who have represented our country in Miss Universe such as Helen Lindes, Rocío Martín, Remedios Cervantes, Raquel Revuelta, Esther Arroyo, María José Suárez, Eva González, Desiré Cordero or Carla Barber, among others. It should be noted that Amparo Muñoz from Malaga was the first and only Spaniard to win this contest in 1974.
