BeautyAmid the heralded return of thin brows from the 1990s, thick designs will still take center stage.

Celebrities like Lily Collins, Dua Lipa and Cara Delevingne are sticking to thick brows, amid a heralded return to the thin, perfectly defined designs that dominated the 1990s. By 2022, that brows will still be big and fluffy, with no hard edges. There are many big fashion houses that continue to opt for them, in a search for natural looks, according to what we saw in the spring-summer 2022 collections.

The trends of 2022 include thick eyebrows in their list, where both natural finishes and bold designs have a place. Perhaps they will not be the absolutes, while firms like Versace, Alberta Ferretti and Balmain, bet on fine shapes, sometimes in raised arches with the tail up, and in other cases, barely perceptible. However, you should know that the complete ones are not going anywhere either.

Thick eyebrows: the ways in which we'll wear them in 2022

There are many women who want to wear them to enjoy a natural appearance, which translates into longer tails, full bases and diffused finishes in the corners. Although until not long ago they reached exaggerated volumes, feathered or as if they had been swept by the wind, the path taken now leads us towards a territory with a softer and more sculpted appearance. Although the trends of the 90s and 2000s are currently through the roof, in the case of eyebrows it is not so forceful.

How will thick brows be worn in 2022?

Natural

If you already had tweezers in hand, it's time to put them back in place. Just like you did during quarantine, it's time to let them grow out, so don't even think about waxing them. We know very well that it is not an easy task to get thick eyebrows. It takes time and the first few weeks of looking unkempt can be tempting enough to start sculpting them, although it's not recommended.

The famous specialist stylist on the subject, Kristie Streicher, and promoter of exuberant and natural styles, recommends letting at least six weeks go by without waxing so that, yes, you can work on a design according to the proportions of each face. She thus sues her new clients before receiving them at her studio in Beverly Hills.

For stylist René de la Garza, founder of Brow Down Studios, products that promote eyebrow growth are at a high point. With items that, in addition to doing their main function, such as fixatives or pencils, also promote hair growth. In most cases, makeup brands include stimulating ingredients to speed up the process.

Full Brows

Full, fluffy brows shouldn't be synonymous with misaligned brows. In 2022 we will continue betting on those thick ones, and although these should not give an appearance of total definition, they can be contained within a delimited frame that accentuates our gaze. Schiaparelli, in his case, resorts to them, but perfectly outlines their ends.

Diffuse edges

Diffuse edges will be seen mainly at the beginning of the eyebrows, with little hairs that go in a little towards the space between the eyebrows on each side. We saw this detail on the catwalks of Louis Vuitton, Giambattista Valli and Nina Ricci. In the case of the brand founded by the French dressmaker of Italian origin, this detail is even more marked, with feathered-style eyebrows.

Long Ends

Another way to make the eyebrows look healthy and natural is to let the hair grow towards the ends in a marked way, the models who walked the catwalk at Louis Vuitton are a good example of this. The edges are extremely diffuse, but the brow finish is also prominently thick and full. This detail can totally transform a tired look into an awake one.
