San Juan de Aznalfarache (Seville), Dec 30.(Press Europa) -
On Thursday afternoon, the cycling and pedestrian catwalk promoted by the City of San Juan de Aznalfarache (Seville) has already been opened for use to connect the Sports Complex Zone First of May and the homes of Real de Valdomina with the Park with the parkcommercial Alavera, saving the route from the A-8058 highway (Sevilla-Coria del Río).
At noon on Thursday, the mayor of the town, Fernando Zamora (PSOE), together with several members of the government team, neighborhood representatives and the construction company, Gévora, toured the 280 of the catwalk checking the final state of the works.
Currently, and due to the delay produced by the rains fallen in recent days, the construction of a pedestrian crossing is pending on the end that communicates the catwalk with the Alavera area. After the Christmas holidays, this work will be carried out, so at the same time, caution is requested, especially the cyclists who use the catwalk through the existence of two curbs.
The construction works of the catwalk began in December 2020, since it was in November 2017 when the City of San Juan, governed by the socialist Fernando Zamora, awarded the Grucal Constructor Grucal Andalucía the first installation contract of this cycling catwalkand pedestrian, for an amount 447.085 euros.
However, the company in question decided months later to renounce the contract claiming that by raising "30 percent the price of steel" from the award of the work, it was not possible to assume the project.
After not achieving that the rest of the companies that attended the initial contest were interested in the contract, since they also wielded the rise in the price of the raw material with respect to the offers originally submitted, the City Council finally opted to resolve "mutualAgreement "The contract awarded to Grucal to initiate a new tender, modifying the original project" to adapt it to the situation arising with the rise in steel prices ".
The second tender of the contract was resolved in October 2019 in favor of the Gévora Construcciones company by 464.815 euros and an execution period of six months, after which the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic broke.
However, in October 2020 the forecast was that at the end of that month the first works destined for the installation of the catwalk began, finally undertaken in December of that year.
