Almost a year ago Patricia Moreno echoed one of the trends (this time not aesthetic but social) that has been having the most depth in recent seasons: the support among designers that leaves behind that era in which competition and elbows marked the tempo of fashion.
“Beyond the temporary unions between firms, there is a trend in the sector that is grabbing headlines lately and taking public interest in terms of launches (or as long as it can last in the era of hype). These are crossovers, that is, small cameos by designers in other brands”, Moreno explained in such an article.
Well, the latest example of that camaraderie that reigns in the industry today was seen today at the recent Schiaparelli Haute Couture show, in which – sitting in the front row and with a broad smile – Olivier Rousteing, director Balmain creative came to support his partner Daniel Roseberry. Dressed in some of the most iconic pieces from Schiaparelli's recent seasons (such as a giant brooch or those platform boots with anatomical detail on the toe so characteristic of his Fall/Winter 2021 collection), Rousteing also told editor Vanessa Friedman that "Designers should support each other."
