The Public Works portfolio reported that the new footbridge allows the physical union of 4 important companies from the Capiatá district, benefiting 50,000 inhabitants.
The work will allow the residents of Loma Barrero, Yataity, Rojas Cañada and Toledo Cañada to move more quickly and access shopping centers, hospitals, schools, etc. more quickly.
The bridge has two traffic lanes and becomes an alternative to route PY01 or PY02, since it greatly facilitates the internal interconnection of the aforementioned companies. In turn, it decompresses the well-known and very busy traffic light crossing of the old Route 1, known as Thompson Crossing.
According to the details, the finished bridge is mixed, with reinforced concrete infrastructure and mesostructure, and the superstructure of steel trusses.
Its length is 24 linear meters, it has a double lane, it has a pedestrian walkway and its total weight is 74,600 kg.
It also has gravel access, road and safety signs, metal railings for traffic and for the pedestrian walkway.
