Miss Universe 2021 already has its winner. Miss India, Miss Paraguay and Miss South Africa were the three finalists of the pageant; however, Harnaaz Sandhu earned the coveted crown of the world's most important beauty pageant. In this 70th edition, more than 80 candidates who aspired to be the successor to Andrea Meza competed. During the parade on December 12 held at the Arena in the city of Eilat, in Israel, the models wore swimsuits, gala and typical clothing from their country.
After giving the answers to the round of questions, the contestants Harnaaz Sandhu, Miss India; Nadia Ferreira, Miss Paraguay; and Lalela Mswane, Miss South Adrica, were eagerly awaiting the results from the members of the qualifying committee, who took their time deliberating the overall winner of the beauty pageant.
Minutes before announcing the winner, Andrea Meza made her last pageant as Miss Universe. Then, Steve Harvey announced Miss South Africa as runner-up, leaving Miss Paraguay and Miss India on stage, who nervously held hands to see which of the two would take the crown. On this occasion, Harnaaz Sandhu earned the coveted award.
