León, Guanajuato.- The Cultural Institute of León and the State Institute of Culture will hold the first event "India in Guanajuato", as part of the Rumbo al Cervantino 50 program, which consists of 29 activities, and although most will be in the city of Guanajuato, León will also have participation.
Month after month, representatives of the nations that have been guests of the "festival of the spirit" will meet and in this month of January it is India's turn, with activities to admire a part of the cultural wealth of that ancestral country.
On Sunday at 6:00 p.m. in the Plaza de Gallos, the Gurudev Tagore Cultural Center of India, based in Mexico City, will present the activities Classical Dances of India and a catwalk of sari, the most traditional garment of India, which is usually made from silk, cotton or linen and whose name means 'strip of cloth' in Sanskrit.
Notably, the first mention of the sari was found in the Rig Veda, a Hindu book of hymns dating back to 3000 BC.
The entrance to these events, which is free and with limited space, will be through Calle Juárez 318, Historic Center, to enter all known sanitary protocols will be carried out such as taking temperature, application of antibacterial gel, mandatory use of face masks and taking care of the healthy distance.
Rumbo al Cervantino 50 is a preamble to the "festival of the spirit" with which it seeks to generate a special celebratory atmosphere for the half century of life of the FIC and which León will also host, not only during October but throughout the year. , with the presentation of events of international stature.
