The designer Diego Guarnizo was in charge of the inaugural catwalk of the special edition of Colombiamoda 2021 with his collection "Mira de Nuevo" for the Avon Foundation for Women. The parade promoted a forceful cause: the rejection of gender violence.

The butterfly and the moth as graphic symbols were the common thread of the proposal. Similarly, the designer opted for a palette of dusty colors in which blues, oranges and pinks predominated. The use of tulle and pleats was also highlighted.

Then came the Ecuadorian designers Cindy Castro and Paulina Anda who joined for this catwalk with their clothing and footwear proposals, respectively. Dresses with silhouettes that played with the body in fabrics such as light silks, linens and sustainable viscose predominated. In terms of color, warm tones, earth tones, whites, peaches and intense colors such as fuchsia were appreciated.

The footwear, by designer Paulina Anda, who with her brand Makiatto gave it an ultra-feminine touch with sandals and open shoes, both of medium height and with triangular, square and some round shapes. The shoes were lined with the same materials as the garments and some were fused with leather.

The night continued and the turn went to Peruvian Annaiss Yucra, a leading designer of women's activism, whose work reflects her constant experimentation with new tools and alternative materials. Ella Pachamama fall/winter 2021 collection is inspired by the documentary “Sembradoras de Vida”, which tells the story of five women from the highlands of Peru who are dedicated to agriculture.

Ella's daring proposal in an electric pastel color palette included a wide variety of textiles and deconstructed silhouettes. His purposeful weaving work and his handling of printing were also highlighted.

At the end of the three catwalks, the applause was heard loudly and the four designers gave a salute to the attendees. "We want to show the industry and Colombians that we need to be united," said Guarnizo before his parade.

Then, the auction of six dresses donated to the Avon Foundation by Diego Guarnizo, Annaiss Yucra, Cindy Castro, Silvia Tcherassi, Johanna Ortiz and Beatriz Camacho began. Nearly 60 million pesos were raised. The funds will go to different NGOs that work to prevent violence against women.
