Two years later, after the police investigated the case, Patrizia Reggiani, Gucci's wife, was convicted of hiring an assassin to kill her husband after discovering he had a affair with another woman, the former president of the fashion company, had offered his wife $650,000 in exchange for a divorce, something she described as "a bowl of lentils."
