Cada vez más artesanas y artesanos textiles mexiquenses buscan complementar sus creaciones de piezas únicas, elaboradas a través de técnicas ancestrales, con accesorios, aplicaciones, detalles y originales prendas de vestir.
Thus, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, through the Institute for the Research and Promotion of Crafts of the State of Mexico (IIFAEM), trained for nine months more than 15 artisans of San Felipe Santiago, Villa de Allende, with the objectivethat they can create contemporary and innovative pieces that allow them to enter new markets such as fashion.

The training were made by designers Aracely Huerta and Silvia Suárez, who through online and face -to -face classes were able.
In this way, teachers of textile art, in collaboration with designers, keep alive the artisanal tradition with new creations, allowing Mexican crafts to take another step, to venture into the field of fashion.
The result of the textile laboratory was presented on the “Connects with the future” catwalk, which was held at the Innova artisanal meeting Edoméx 2021, where they showed their work and talent with dresses, costumes and blouses, which allowed to boost theCombination of techniques and design.
