A taste for fashion and design is a vocation that Alejandro Maíllo has been living since he took his first steps as a child. His maternal grandmother was a dressmaker and, as the young designer points out, "she had a lot to do with it."
After primary school, ESO and high school it was clear to him, "I never doubted that fashion design was my thing, and I went to Burgos to the School of Art and Superior Design", he explains. After presenting a bridal collection called 'De filigrana y seda' for his final project, Alejandro headed to Vitoria-Gasteiz to continue growing professionally in a designer's 'showroom'.
The man from Valladolid, who is passionate about wedding dresses and haute couture, returned to his native Valladolid a year and a half later and has continued to show his work in the city of Pisuerga ever since.
Professional debut
Precisely, his work 'De filigrana y seda' led him to make his professional debut and on top of that with a regional award. She won the 'Best Stylist' award organized by the Catwalk of Castilla y León. A recognition that put the name of Alejandro Maíllo on the Community's fashion scene.
Seminci and dream come true
After learning about the existence of the Seminci 'showroom' during his undergraduate studies, Alejandro had not seen the opportunity to introduce himself. However, this last time he had his new collection, 'New Rules', and he said to himself, "why not? Try it!".

The next day and with the help of his mother, Julia, Alejandro appeared there with eight of his dresses. "The collection is inspired by old Hollywood and red carpets, so there was no better time to show it to the world," he explains.
"When they called me to tell me that they had chosen one of my designs for the opening gala of the festival, I couldn't fit in, I immediately called all my family and friends to tell them. I went to the 'showroom' when the actress appeared there María Silvia Esteve, who chose another of my designs, in half an hour I had to adjust it so that she could wear it that same night. I could say that it was a moment that I will never forget and I was beginning to see that all the effort put in for so long was paying off." , account excited.
